Preventing users of shared projects accessing original project session page

Hi all,

I have users who access data in Project B that contains sessions shared from Project A. The users should not have access to Project A. Project A is protected. When users search in the search box for a session, it allows users to click on Project A. However as they do not have permission so when they click on View Images a No Permission error pops up. I end up with a lot of emails from confused radiologists.

I have had to make project A private to prevent users form doing this. However other users cannot request access to Project A via the homepage -  the owner of Project A would like this to be the case. 

I would definitly like to remove the option of Project A for Project B users when searching for sessions. I'm looking at the code, trying to apply a fix. Is there an easier way?
