customizing XNAT

Hi XNAT Fans,

I'm trying to customize the XNAT instance (Docker type). 

My aim is to take more information about the project (let's say metadata of the project) from the new project page(image1 attached), create the table that save the metadata under xnat schema (xnat_metadata), and make projects searchable from the homepage(image2).

If someone tried something similar it could be great help if you share your experience how to proceed and store the values into the DB table and make them searchable.
