Hi,

xsync looks like it is an amazing tool, I'm trying to connect one xnat (v1.8.2.2) to another (v1.8.3) in different part of same org but after installing and working through setup guide, at point of trying to add remote server credentials i got the error. 'Could not get alias token. Please check username and password. '

I haven't touched alias token in XNAT before so it threw me off a bit. I went and looked at: XNAT Documentation: Generating an Alias Token for Scripted Authentication

I work through this and added / validated tokens and tried again but still no luck.

I went and checked xapi and xsync logs. xapi.log states...

2022-02-18 10:28:46,964 [http-nio-8080-exec-8] ERROR org.nrg.xapi.rest.XapiRestControllerAdvice - HTTP status 500: Request by user johnmc to URL /xapi/xsync/remoteREST caused an internal server error
org.springframework.web.client.ResourceAccessException: I/O error on GET request for "https://xnat-crf.xggc.scot.nhs.uk/data/services/tokens/issue": sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target; nested exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

We are continuing to look into this but any advice about how to work through this would be much appreciated?

Thanks
John McLean

Hi John,

That looks like your source XNAT instance does not like the SSL cert for your destination server. If you try something like this from your source server:

...then you'll probably see a similar error, which would confirm the issue.

Thanks,
Charlie
