One of my users is trying to find any studies in our (50k+ imaging sessions) XNAT where the T1 voxel size was 0.8 x 0.8 mm.

Is there any way to do this kind of search in XNAT?

Hi Daniel,

I don't have an XNAT instance up at the moment to play around with to confirm it, but I do see voxel resolution in the display documents for MR scans: https://bitbucket.org/xnatdev/xnat-data-models/src/cc97f6c5fcc0fe8a10c45f9bbca67c19d8353013/src/main/resources/schemas/xnat/display/xnat_mrScanData_display.xml#lines-138:143 . Have you tried doing the following?

Start a search on MR Scans (if this is not available, you will need to register the xnat:mrScanData data type on your site). Filter on voxel resolution. If you don't see the relevant columns, see if they can be added via the "Edit Columns" option.

Thanks,
Charlie Moore

Can you walk me through that a bit more? When you say "start a search on MR scans" I'm not sure what you mean. I have an MR tab (like, Projects, Subjects, MR, Pet, CT), but I don't see a filter thing there. And I have the 'Advanced' search, but the only Pivot Data-type is MR Sessions and Subjects.

By default, the data types for scans in XNAT aren't set up to be searchable. There is some documentation on how to set that up here https://wiki.xnat.org/documentation/working-with-scan-listings (this is what I was referencing with registering the xnat:mrScanData data type for the site). That will enable listings for MR Scans at the project level or site level [via Browse > Data > MR Scans in the top bar UI].

Thanks,
Charlie Moore
