Resource folder and catalog file not deleted after delete action

Hi!

We are still polishing v1.8.2.2 in our production server (the hotfix was a relief BTW, we did experience archive data loss, fortunately in a test project).

Our last problem is that resource folders and catalog files are not being removed from the archive filesystem after deleting them with the file manager dialog. 

We are uploading NIFTI files with pyxnat:

scanID = session.scan(scan)

nifti_resource=scanID.resource('NIFTI')

nii_file=nifti_resource.file('nifti_file.nii.gz')

nii_file.insert(nifti_file_path, format='NIFTI', content='mcverter', tags=" ")

So the archive structure is as follows:

session/SCANS/xxx/NIFTI/nifti_file.nii.gz

When we delete the NIFTI folder, this is gone from the dialog, and the resource nifti_file.nii is deleted from the archive as well, but session/SCANS/xxx/NIFTI/xxx_catalog.xml is still there. Calling refresh catalog for /archive/projects/test/subjects/test_s/session/SCANS/xxx doesn't seem to work either. 

Is this behavior expected or should we investigate further?

No, this isn't the expected behavior. You can follow the progress of the ticket here https://issues.xnat.org/browse/XNAT-6864, but it should be fixed when 1.8.3 is released.
