restict logins to admins during system maintenance

Hi All,

I think I am missing the obvious...but is there a quick what to restrict logins to xnat to to admins only  to allow system maintenance?

Hello!

There isn't an easy way. 

You could:

Put a site wide banner describing site maintenance time frame. The banner can be visible on the login page and the index page.

Hi Jon,

Out of curiosity, what maintenance tasks are you performing during this time? We've had requests before for a maintenance mode that shows a message when the system is down, but the problem with this for XNAT is that when Tomcat is down, there is nothing to show that message (we accomplish this on some deployments with a special configuration for the front-end proxy server). But since you're still allowing logins by admins Tomcat would still be up, but just want to lessen the server load while the admins are doing these tasks, I'm wondering what those might be.

I was thinking a firewall setting might be helpful there.  Basically, only people from a few IPs can access it during the maintenance window.
