Modifying DICOM with session label change

On a server running 1.9.1.1 build 158, I need to change some MR session labels, and I was hoping that would have the knock of effect of changing the DICOM tags as I understood to happen from the "Anonymization During Metadata Edits" in https://wiki.xnat.org/documentation/where-dicom-anonymization-happens-in-xnat

However, this does not seem to change the underlying Patient ID tag as I thought it would. I also made a little site-wide anonymisation script in the project as well:

(0008,1030) := project
(0010,0010) := subject
(0010,0020) := session

But 0010,0020 still has the original, incorrect session label. Am I doing something wrong here or is that not how the dicom modification works?

Hi Dave,

That behavior is now configurable, and I'm guessing you have the configuration turned off for it. Take a look at https://wiki.xnat.org/documentation/admin-ui-session-upload-and-anonymization-settings#AdminUI-SessionUploadandAnonymizationSettings-DetermineWhethertoRe-runProjectAnonymizationonDatainPlace .
