Persistent Identifiers

Hi XNAT group :)

I want to start investigating how to use Persistent Identifiers to make our data better findable on our public XNAT instances. With persistent identifiers I mean something like doi.org, handle.net, ePIC, ORCiD, etc.

I want to be able to use this on at least the project (collection), subject (individual) and experiment (sample) level.

ORCiD is a persistent id for people, I consider this a bonus as it would be a nice to have to link to orcid id's of PI's or users.

Is there anyone who have implemented this? Or does is there someone who have implemented this for other systems and have suggestions for how to approach this?
