Together with a team from the Advanced Research Computing (ARC) centre at UCL we have implemented MR and PET raw data plugins for XNAT. The
plugin for MR (https://github.com/SyneRBI/xnat-mrd) is
based on (ISMR)MRD and for PET (https://github.com/SyneRBI/xnat-interfile) on
STIR, supporting any data format that can be read by STIR, including
its Interfile support. This means that raw data is not just a data blob
on the system but header information is accessible, searchable and
findable. Containerized SIRF reconstructions can
be run directly in XNAT and access the raw MR and PET data.
Reconstructed Dicom data is then saved again in XNAT. This is an
important step to evaluate advanced image reconstruction methods in a
standardized and easy-to-use way. We will provide an example
for this soon!

Chris,
This is a great contribution. This is functionality that has been frequently requested XNAT users.
