Hi,

I'm looking for help as we at the company are not that familiair with XMPIE.

We have a new customer that will deliver a single csv file every week with like 1000 records.
We have to generate a 2 page letter to print and send to customers. This i know how to do.
But the client also wants a PDF per record of the 2 page letter and have it mailed to the email in the record.

Does anyone know if i can create single PDF's per record and save it with a specific ID defined in the CSV?

Greets,

Vincent

It is possible to produce one file per recipient, and named by a data value, but only using uProduce server (not possible with uDirect desktop). On desktop you can split the bulk output using tools like A-PDF Content Splitter or Debenu PDF Tools.

I do something similar to this and it's not straight forward. What's different is it sounds like you need to email ONLY the second page?

First you have to put a "hidden" field in the corner of the page you need emailed. You hide it by coloring it the same as the background.
Next make your PDF
Then from the PDF extract only the Even pages as single PDFs.
Then you use "A-PDF Rename" to assign new files names to each PDF.

Thanks for the replies. It isn;t only the second page. It contains 2 pages.
So both pages need to be in the PDF and the PDF should get the name out of the csv file thats also used in xmpie.
Thought Server version would do something like that, got Desktop version here.

Two pages is easy then, just us the split command.

The name of the file is what you put in the "hidden" field. You then tell A-PDF Renamer to look in that location for the text to use as the file name.

THANKS!!

Take a look at http://www.evermap.com/autodocmail.asp - a plug in for acrobat.

Here is a use case that we use:
It processed a 12 page PDF, picked the out the email address and made 3 separate PDFs based on finding 4 common email addresses and mailed them to the appropriate addresses. It's pretty slick and easy.

Our use case is just single page invoices, I think it could handle the 2 page letter.
