Hello,

Question: In XMPie PDF Tables, does the table have to be set up to autoflow from a left page to a right page on the initial spread when the PDF contains multiple pages? I’m trying to avoid the system generating extra blank pages.

Context: If I start the PDF Table on a right‑hand page and link its text frame to the next spread’s left‑hand page, InDesign seems to insert unwanted blank pages—even when the mold spread option is turned off. Is this expected behavior, or is there a recommended setup to prevent the extra pages?

Thank you,

Scott Byers

If I understand the problem correctly, the issue is the spreads not the flow.

Tables are added to text frames in InDesign and the text frames are then linked in any sequence to create the flow.. It does not matter the frame  location or the page or page sequence.

The problem is the way visibility is applied to spreads not pages. So if you have a spread of 2 pages with nothing on the left page, and objects on the right page, then the spread still has content and both pages are in the output.

Only solution I can suggest is to turn off spreads. You will then have a single page spread with nothing before a page with content. And I think you will get the desired result. (Untested.)
