Image not refreshing

We are having an issue with an image in Assets.  There are 50 documents that point to it.  We needed to update something on the image, made the update, checked it out and back in.  When we run a proof from uStore we still see the old image, even though the old image is no longer on the server.  We confirmed the new image is uploaded.  

If we rerun new proof/process #'s and replace in uStore, uStore then sees the new image, however, we really don't want to do this for all 50 documents. Is there a way to force the original proof/process to see the new image?  It seems very odd the system would retain old image information and not refresh with new data.  Are we missing something?

If you are just concerned about the preview showing the old image, somebody correct me if I am wrong here but could you not use a generic thumbnail image rather than using the document to create a thumbnail?

Otherwise I think you do have to proof/process each document as the uProduce proof/process jobs you run are used on the backend to produce the proofs and live documents in ustore.

I was hoping for a different answer.  We want the proof and process to pull the updated image.  

It just seems very odd that the system does not grab the graphic from the Assets directly.  That is why I assume we have the ability to checkout and checkin.

In uStore, there are 3 thumbnails you can choose from.

1. Use auto-created document thumbnail
• This will use the thumbnail present in the DPKG (image present at the time you carry out the action of creating a product, or at the time you carry out the action of updating local cache). If you update the DPKG and you'd like to update the thumbnail
• take product offline
  
• check the relevant boxes under "Update local cache"
• put product back online
  
2. Select thumbnail from a recent job
• This will create a thumbnail from the specified uProduce job ID. If you wish to update the thumbnail, run a job and update this value accordingly.
  
3. Upload thumbnails
• Self explanatory.

Do you know if it's possible to access the directory where manually uploaded thumbnails are housed?  We have a store with 400 or so offerings and some with multiple thumbnails, but a rebrand is forcing us to make an update to all of them.  I have all the new images and I'm hoping to replace them on a server somewhere to avoid the alternative of manually replacing them one by one.  I tried to figure out where they're stored but only see the proxy links.

The file system location of thumbnails is something like:

X:\XMPie\uStore\App\uStoreShared\ProductImages\Store_YY\Product_ZZZZ\Pages\Thumbnails

Where:

X = installation drive

YY = Store ID

ZZZZ = Product ID
