Hi guys!

I was wondering if anyone would have encountered this issue before. We've had a new starter and we're setting up her PC with the uCreate plugin however we're encountering this issue when trying to add a datasource to an indesign file.

Our plugin version is 25.3 build 16335 and it's paired with Indesign 2025 (20.2 specifically).

When adding the datasource (have tried with a flat CSV and Excel), it'll open up a terminal window and promptly close. The message displayed I 'think' is the same given that I was only able to capture the image when trying to add the Excel.

We've tried reinstalling both Indesign and XMPie but to no avail.

Regards

Hello,

Have you tried to store your Excel file on a shorter path, without any unusual characters in it, locally? ( = not on a network or Cloud-based drive).
Or does the trouble occur on any file, regardless the name / path complexity / location? In such a case, I would reinstall uCreate, or investigate, if any antivirus software would interfere.

Quick update on this issue - we've resolved the issue:

As suggested by XMPie Support, we stopped and deleted previous instances of LocalDB. Recreated it and it still failed so attempted a complete reinstall of the LocalDb.

Turns out it was the disk sector size as LocalDb is not compatible with sector sizes greater than 4k (not sure why it was delivered to us preformatted at greater than 4k) - once that was resolved, it all worked fine.
