Does anyone know if there is a character limitation in the qLingo box?
I have a very long expression and cannot seem to paste to it anymore.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Hi,

Could you elaborate what long means? What are you trying to achieve?

I am trying to create a style rule that includes options for multiple
fonts (somewhere ~100) and multiple colors (~24) (where each selection
is independent from the other) using uDirect. In a word processor, the
document is several pages.

Thank you!

Emily,

Are you trying to group 100 templates into one file? Sounds like it would be simpler to manage separate templates, especially since you can't use paragraph styles so you have less control over your type.

Cheers,
Bob

Thank you!

I am creating a template for use on a web portal where a customer
would select their own font from the options provided in order to
create a 'versioned' graphic. Body text is not included so the
paragraph style constraint is less of an issue. Still, agreed that it
would be much simpler to manage separate templates!!:)

Hi Emily,

would it not be simpler to create the different graphic versions yourself and then placing them in the indesign document with a graphic ADOR?
Advantage 1: you do not have to create a single style ador with loads of style rules init
Advantage 2: you could offer your customer to select the actual graphic (via image gallary or drop down), letting him or her select the right logo/graphic
Advantage 3: you can easily manage versions yourself by just checking out and checking in you graphics via XMPie Asset system.

Would that help?

Then maybe I would suggest InDesign Tagged Text. You just load up all 100 paragraph styles in your document, then export the text file. You can then swap the name of the paragraph style and the customer's text in that text file. When the modified text is loaded into indesign it will call the correct paragraph style and modify the type.

Otherwise, it's just style adors.
