Hi all!

I have a technical question for those who are using XMPIE for print,
Rurl and Email.

For now we have only a small local environment but in the next weeks
et are implementing XMPIE for our whole corporation to use.
Someone is asking me what is the storage size that SQL is gonna need.

By experience, do any of you could give me any idea of how big the SQL
database could get?

Depends upon which version of SQL you are using.

If you are using Express, you will probably run out of steam.

If you are use SQL 2005 or newer Enterprise you should be OK.

Yannick,

Note that the url Dan sent you to gives details for 2008 SQL. XMPie
does not yet support MS 2008 SQL for it's own internal databases,
though you can use 2008 SQL for recipient data. There is a link on the
page to get SQL 2005 specs...

In my experience, Express (free) SQL is fine for the majority of XMPie
users - unless they require Premier Marketing Console, or anticipate
massive recipeint databases and will be using the sql for them also.
(View feature comparisons here: http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/en/us/compare-features.aspx
)

Note that Express has a limit of 4GB max database size. XMPie installs
several databases. Generally, the Assets and Tracking databases grow
the most. If you are sensible and do some general maintenance
occasionally - eg data after your campaigns are finished - you will
never reach these limits. My Assets DB is the largest of the XMPie DBs
at the moment at 291MB - nowhere near the 4gb limit.

Your question seems to be asking about the disk size of the databases,
right? I'd reserve about 10gb for xmpie databases, and more for your
own. Now, you're not going to have a HDD partition that small are
you???
