Good evening,

The 2nd issue I am having is with uploading a revised business card design to uProduce and uStore. From what I have gleamed from reading various topics on the Interest group and viewing the XMPie Campus tutorial videos, the process for getting an Indesign document into uProduce and uStore should be:

- Create the Adobe Indesign
- Verify with various records in a test CSV that the formatting is working as required
- Save the Adobe Indesign file
- Export the Adobe Indesign file as a "Campaign Package File" (cpkg)
- I then copied the CPKG file from the Indesign PC to the XMPie server
- Create a new "Xmpie Verification Campaign"by clicking on Upload and then fill in the "New Campaign Name" box and then click Choose File
- Navigate to where the CPKG file was placed, click OK and then Close Window when the campaign is uploaded
- Open the new campaign and then open the INDD file
- Proof and Process the files (fill in the appropriate information when requested)
- Go to Job Center and make note of the 2 job # (proof jpg and proof pdf)
- Create the product in uStore and fill in the necessary information for building the product

If you need to change anything in the Indesign file (variable style / QLingo / placement etc), from what I gather I make the necessary changes and then export a DPKG. I believe all I need to do is copy that DPKG file over to the XMPie server and then upload the new INDD file and proof and process it.

I then thought all I needed to do was go into the uStore product, take it offline and go into product setup and check the 4 boxes under "Update cache" and provided and verify the new proof / process job numbers.

I had my XMPie training back about 4 years ago and really haven't done much new dynamic product creation with XMPie since then. So I believe I have followed the correct process, but I know it isn't working. The one easy example I can provide is that I added another variable to an Indesign document after I had already created the campaign. I then tried to change the Indesign file and exported the changed Indesign file as a DPKG. After following the above described flow, the new variable was not 1 of the variables listed as a Custom item when I selected the Variables dropdown,

So am I out-to-lunch on what the process should be to upload a modified Indesign template?

Thanks,

Yale

When you make a change to an existing document go to indesign and click "open from xmpie," do what you need, then "save to xmpie." Then go back to uproduce and proof and process then to ustore and enter in the new numbers.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the quick reply. That was it. I can now make changes without having to recreate the product in its entirety.
