In the SDK Reference 5.3 CHM file, go to the Search tab and type
"PHP": you will see that there are some PHP snippets.

Uuh...i do not think you get the joke...L.H. Oswald is accused of killing President John Kennedy back in the ages....anyway...if you are a programmer you should be able to go through the logic of the c# example. It contains a couple of steps. You need first to create a jobticket, append items to this jobticket you need and as last step use the production and append parameters to submit the job to xmpie. With both the createticket and productioin you get numbers back which you have to use in the append steps....logic is the same in any language..

we have website ...user create album and order we need to print that ...currently our printing man do this manually with xmpie server like manual transfer : assets (jpeg) and datasources (csv) to server then creeate proof and etc things ...so we need to do this automatic and reduce our manual work. sorry i think i am giving more trouble for this group members ...sorry ..if have any idea please guide me thanks

John,

Walter already guided you as to what you need to do. If you're looking for someone to write all the code for you, then i'm afraid you wont find it here. The advice thus far is read the manual and all the documentation and then ask appropriate questions about specific things you may not understand or need help with.

Remember that this is a free forum and people are under no obligation to help you. The best way to get people to help is to demonstrate that you really are trying to help yourself. Currently you are not doing that.

Hi Guys,

More or less i am agree with John, what he is desperately  looking for is a guide or guidance where one can learn how to setup a PHP website (Opensource site like Joomla, Wordpress) where as a backend XMPie uStore or other XMPie facilities can be used.

Here i have added UK's one of the most popular website (http://www.zazzle.co.uk/custom/photocards) which provides personalisation, I have no idea what they are using in background engine, but the user interface is very friendly, and John is looking for a solution similar to this.

Lets go through a basic workflow, Once we setup a basic PHP website where user can login and upload his/her photos, then they choose a template for photobook and this selected photos will be transferred in to a photobook, user will receive a low-res photobook PDF as a preview. So admin is going to use PHP shopping cart as a ecommerce and XMPie as a web to print tool.

The question here is HOW this PHP will talk to XMPie and which module of XMPie can be used, what would be a better way? Where should he can start once PHP web is done. Is there any case study or workflow guidance XMPie have for PHP-XMP  integration?

Hope i have drawn more clear vision, please provide your input John if you have something to add.

Regards,
Pranav

Pranav,

The point is that we DO understand your problem. But it is not , as Tim stated, the intention of this group to help you
create a Website the can do this for you. It is for stating your problems you have in certain code or other and after a lot of thought of your part
we would help you with that Code.

Let me make one comment. The big mistake a see here is that you Created a Website and now you want to integrate Xmpie…
Wrong choice in my humble opinion. You build a site around your backend and not first create a frontend and hope the backend will understand.

Any way. As I wrote already , the steps are really basic , maybe i have to spell it out for you ;

1 CreateTicketfromDocument (JobTicket_SSP.asmx)  Feed Document ID from Campaign
2. Append to this Ticket the different tasks that Xmpie had to do (for example Step and Repeat)…
3. use the Production_SSP.asmx to call the JobTicket and it will run…

Again this is all very basic and simple. If you just lookup the C# code and walk over it you will see the logic in that..

I do not have more to add….sorry.

If you want the coding done for you, you are at the wrong user group.

IMO, thats not what the OP is asking. This goes back to my earlier point of presenting a specific problem to which the OP has issue with. Statements like this are too vague.

Ok. Forget languages. They are irrelevant and an implementation detail. Walter already described the workflow, but for the sake of clarity I will repeat it here:

1. Create job ticket (see documentation)
2. Mutate job ticket as appropriate to set datasource, recipients etc (see documentation)
3. Call production web service to submit that job ticket. (see documentation)

This is the workflow. Now, what you are asking is masquerading as "what is the workflow". What you are actually asking is "what code should I copy and paste to get this workflow" and as I previously stated that's not the kind of help that is typically prevalent here. Specifically, I am somewhat frustrated by this thread and the OP because its not the first time that he has posted like this (ref: http://is.gd/VWhkfJ ). In both cases it seems that the OP has not even looked in the archives (e.g. http://is.gd/r9Vd3Z )... the archives have a bunch of PHP threads, and on one I even dumped a whole load of example code to get someone started.

So, I would strongly recomend reading the documentaiton to get a grasp of the workflow and review the archives for this group. Then, once you understand that (clearly you don't now), post some of the code you wrote that does not work and we will help you and you will find this community useful and reliable. If however you fail to do this you will more than likely find this community swiftly unresponsive.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your prompt answer, it looks like i have to go through few manuals and few experiments for this integration. Not sure about John, I will buzz you if have more questions on this.

The biggest problem of all XMPie developers that they going to the API
instead of learing what XMPie does.
if you ask me API is so clear anybody can do it , but first you need
to know XMPie .
So I suggest first to create campaign package , work with uPlan , use
dashboard than go to API.
Or at least get 3 hour WebEx training from XMPie.
Igor.

Well, it's a quite usual situation, where a Print Provider (or an Enterprise) operates a uProduce server, but haven't got any in-house development team, then decides to subcontract the dev to an external IT company, who does not know uProduce, as they do not operate it.
The subcontractor would at least spend a couple of hours with the uProduce operator, to understand what is an account, a campaign, a doc, a job ticket, etc.

it is like programming for MS Office without know what is MS Word or
Excel does
Needless to say that C# examples can be translated to any language .
So if using PHP you know how to consume Web Services than I do not see
any problem, than read API Documentation Overview , but you have to
know XMPie to program successful and understand what is involved .

But as Bill stand , XMPie customers going to low rate subcontractors
that say yes we can do it and than they charge them twice more hours
since they have to learn how to do it.

That's why I recommend to all client to get API training from XMPie or
at least spend money for the subcontractor to learn it , it twill save
lots of time = money .
Igor.

The warning message is telling you that the "test" link in the
documentation will not work.

"Test" will use http://localhost.... so "Test" will only work on the
version installed on the server itself.

The documentation will still be installed OK. The walkthroughs,
samples, and documentation files will be installed OK - check in Start
-> Programs -> XMPie API SDK

Thanks Stephen,

I manage to install API on my local machine instead of server.  I am not sure weather i am giving my customer name is correct or not, currently i am working on XMPie's samples. and my sample files are stored on server, my visual web developer is on my local machine. When i run the preview in browser it gives me BIOS error

"...because the network BIOS command limit has been reached. For more information on this error, please refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 810886. Hosting on a UNC share is not supported for the Windows XP Platform..."

I edit my web.config file on my local computer(which is stored on server) and my credentials are below

                <add key="XMPCustomerName" value="campaign.jcs.com.sg/xmpiedashboard"/>
<add key="XMPUserName" value="Pranav_Web2Print"/>
<add key="XMPPWD" value="1111111"/>
<add key="XMPAccountName" value="Sample"/>
<add key="XMPCampaignName" value="Sample"/>

Any idea to avoid this error without changing registry setting of MaxCmds value.

Regards,
Pranav

Pranav ,
I hope you realized that you just gave access to your uProduce Server
to the all WWW .
Needless to say that your uProduce Admin has a default xmpie
password , btw since your post I do not what other curious people may
changed.
I was nice and didn't delete all users and campaigns ....., i just
changed default Admin password to something else.
I'd not expose uProduce Server to the WWW or at least I'd allow access
to its IIS from particular IP's.
So please close public access if you do not want get some troubles.
Igor.

Pranav, firstly, it was Igor who responded to you (please pay attention) and secondly, thats not the point - Igor was saying that your admin password was the default, which was allowing anyone to just login as the administrator and make themselves a usable account: its a pretty fatal security hole.

Please avoid posting any kind of credentials, hosts or similar to this forum. Remember its completely open, so in this instance, you were lucky that Igor let you know about the problem: someone more unscrupulous could have taken out your whole operation. Bear that in mind.
