I’m facing font issues in Indesign Ucreate in Indesign 2017, I confirm the fonts are .ttf  and PC format and they are installed locally not  Typekit fonts. 1st used Indesign 2018 then it gives the same error so I thought the version I’m using may not be compatible with xmpie server, then I used the Indesign 2017 and the font warning remains same, can you guys some ideas how to fix this issue. I'm adding the screenshot for review.

Howdy,

The first thing I am think is perhaps you have a bad font. It is a pretty nice font (design wise) and there seems to be a GitHub project that is maintaining one version and another version, which may be related I found on another site. I can send you links, I just didn't know if it is a good idea to post those links here.

So I would dump the truetype font and pick up the OpenType font. I have always had better luck with an OpenType font as long as it was properly made and not a conversion from another type format.

Next I would go on your XMPie server and find the folder that InDesign Server is installed in. Create a new folder in there called "fonts". Put all of your job fonts in that folder. It makes it nice and neat because all your IT guys won't have to worry about extra fonts in the OS, and you have a tidy location to store all your fonts. It's easy to grab and back up between XMPie upgrades too.

99.999% of the time this will do the trick.

Baring that, I would add the font to the assets in uProduce. I don't like this because it adds more bulk to the database, depending on your install, you might have to be careful about DB size.

Lastly, I would install in the OS, but as you already said, it's there and already having a problem. That makes me think the font is bad. Adobe InDesign does manage fonts better than Windows does...naturally.

Let me know if you have questions. Good Luck!

Bob

So my experience says OpenType and an InDesign Server fonts folder.
