Hi all, we are on Indesign server 2020 on uProduce 10.0.2 and we upgrade our XMPie systems about every two years and we will be planning to upgrade most likely mid 2023.

I see Adobe is EOLing Type 1 fonts Jan 2023:

https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/postscript-type-1-fonts-end-of-support.html#:~:text=When%20will%20support%20for%20Type,1%20fonts%20after%20that%20time.

For our mid 2023 Indesign Server upgrade, will current campaigns with Type 1 fonts (if we have any) still work after upgrade? I believe I may have read Type 1 fonts will work in Adobe software released after Jan 2023, but if you edit the document, you'll need to replace Type 1 fonts.

From what I understand:
Current InDesign versions will support Type 1.
InDesign versions released after mid 2023 will not support Type 1.
Therefore, at the time of your upgrade, if the latest InDesign supports Type 1, you should be OK.
Anyhow, you should be able to request XMPie Support to upgrade your Adobe InDesign server to a specific version if needed. (For example to upgrade only to AIS CC2022 so you continue to have type 1 support.) - Of course this means you will need to keep all your desktops at that same InDesign CC2022 version too.
The alternative is to go with the latest and modify all your existing type 1 fonts to TTF/OTF.

Thanks Couch, yeah we don't have the labor to isolate Type1 for the existing campaigns specific for the public online products unless it's a must. Guessing we may pick 2022 version if support allows next year.
