It looks like I am stuck with DSL for some time to come (pretty sad in
this day and age, but I just don't like any of the alternatives
available in Pleasant Grove). My Cisco 678 won't die, but it is only a
matter of time, and it's a bear to manage. I like command line if it
is done reasonably, but the 678 has many gotchas (anyone ever try to
turn on filters or various other functions, why does every possible
filter command you can issue seem to completely cut off all traffic
making configuration impossible),etc.

I noticed that there is a Cisco 877 with "Advanced IP" options that
looks like it does a lot more and better, even seems to support IPV6.
I'd like to have a router that lets me do a lot more things. I believe
XMission has made recent announcements related to IPV6 day although I
couldn't find specifics or FAQs if I wanted to explore IPV6
possibilities.

Is there a good list somewhere of supported DSL modems, or even
anything someone would highly recommend, or any experience with the
Cisco 877? Or does anyone has any more info on trying out IPV6.

Thanks,

Ray Whitmer
