Hi,

i noticed that Xmind portable stores application settings 1 or 2
directories up from the currently opened .xmind file (the
folders .metadata and .xmind are created).

Is it possible to configure xmind to save these settings globally for
all .xmind files in the portable-application directory? I think this
would be a better solution, because i don't want dozens different
settings files distributed over my file-system ;-)

Thanks in advance!

- Michael

Hi Michael
What about running associated.bat file in the xmind portable folder?

Hi Stephen,
The Associate_XMind_File.bat associates .xmind files, but doesn't
change paths to the configuration files.

Hi Michael

That configuration file is saved in the data folder in the portable folder.

Sincerely!

Hi Stephen,

Not for me - that's the problem ;-)
For example, i have a file D:\Projects\test.xmind
The first time i open this file, xmind creates the folders D:\.metadata
\ and D:\.xmind\
If i delete these folders, and open the test.xmind file all settings
are reset to default and the folders are created again!

I already downloaded the latest version, however - same behaviour.

Thanks for your help!

Michael

Hi Michael

I also test this. When opening an existing .xmind via double-click (.xmind file is related with xmind portable.), this problem will happen. If launching xmind portable first and open file via file-open, this will not happen.

XMind should fix this.

Sincerely!

Stephen
