I just bought XMind, switching from MindJet for Mac. Great product,
and it's from my homeland Hong Kong !?

Quick question -- can I change the default spacing (border, padding,
whatever you want to call it) between (sub)topics? I want to spread my
map out a little more. I am using Logic Chart layout right now.

Regards,
P.K.

Hi
XMind supports manual position. When you are using mind map structure, you can press the "Alt" key, move and place main topics to any where you want.
XMind does not supply settings to let you change the default spacing. We may consider about this.

Sincerely!

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

I cannot seems to make this work. I am on Leopard, so I tried holding
down the option key and drag a subtopic. It ended up copying it (which
is a great short cut). If I use the apple/command key, it moves the
topic but snap back to it's original position once I release the mouse
button.

The user settable spacing / padding is one feature of mindjet that I
use, to spread my sub topics up some more if I have a dense diagram.
So please add that to the wish list !

Thanks,
P.K.

Hi

You can read how to move topic at:
http://www.xmind.net/help/topic.html
BTW, you can find the way to Position 'main' topics here. :)

Sincerely!

Sorry to restart a thread but I'm having the same problem that PK was
having. I'm running OS X.5 and I would love to "fix" a topic to a
spot. When I hold down teh command key it seems to do what I want but
as soon as I let go it snapps back into like with the other topics.
Any solutions?
Thanks
Damon

Hi

You can only fix the main topic and when you are using mind map structure.  Can't you do that via following the way at:
