XMIND and Word 2010

I've a short Question. Is it possible to use XMind oder XMind Pro in
Word 2010 as an object?

We use word and out flowcharts were drawn in abc flowcharter und now
we want to change to xmind. Is it possible to sue this as an ole
object directly in word 2010?

Hello Carsten,

 

I am using Word 2007 and X-Mind version 3.2.0, free. I successfully inserted an X-Mind file into Word 2007 as an OLE Object. It works flawlessly. I am sure that you can do the same in Word 2010.

 

 I'm sure the procedure in Word 2010 will be similar. MS Word and X-Mind are powerful and versatile programs. One can accomplish much using these products.

 

The following procedure is how I accomplished this.

 

1. In the Word Ribbon, Click the Insert Tab
2. Click the Insert Object Icon. In my version of Word, it's located in the Text section, near Quick Parts, etc.
3. In the OBJECT Dialog Box, Click Create from File
4. Click Browse
5. Browse to the X-Mind file you want to insert into Word as an object.
6. Complete the operation

 

This will insert your X-Mind file into a Word document. When you open this Word document, you can click the icon representing the X-Mind file, and X-Mind will open your inserted file.

 

I did not have the time to try the "Link" function. Maybe, you can try this function and report back to us if the Link function also works.
