Hi All,

I find Xmind 3.2 is really great. I'm now working on a fairly large
map. I would like to print it on a poster, at some stage. My question
is, when exporting to a jpeg image, what is the max definition ? Will
I get a good-quality image at poster size ?

Thanks

btw the working version of the file is :

Hi

As I know, the quality of exported image is not very good. But you can try about the PDF(map) option. Or, you can request a sample from sup...@xmind.net

Sincerely!

Thank you Stephen. I tried PDF, but it's not very satisfactory. I will
first work a little more on my map and then ask a sample HiDef print
out from support.

I come back as the question pops up every now and then, and has not been
solved. I think printing large maps is an issue that really concerns the
usability of the app. I try to find a work around since several hours
and have not found a solution that provides a readable output.

My problem : I have a very detailed mind map to prepare a course.

When trying to print the map as a poster neither pdf nor the image
formats (png, bmp, jpg) scale characters (if I see well). I use the
xmind default size for characters.

Rasterisation does not work as the characters are too small to become
increased in size.

Any other solution ?

To change character size after in a given min d map for all of the text
how can I do this ?

TIA

Hi Pascal

If I were you I would try to "collapse all" subtopics on the main map.
Print this map.
Now look for the down green arrow and up green arrow on your menu bar.

Then drill each topic down (one after the other) and print the drilled
down map of the topic and it's subtopics (one after the other).

Could this work for you?
Cheers,
Irma

Hi Pascal

What about exporting map to a PDF(map) with large paper size, and then print that PDF file? Or exporting to image, and print the image?

Sincerely!

The PDP (map) option is part of the pro version which I don't have.

To get a pdf which remains readable when aggrandized I now used the
freeware PDF-Xchange 4.0 Lite which is a printer driver :
http://www.tracker-software.com/free_offer_lite.html

So I don't export but I print to a pdf file.

PDF-Xchange 4.0 Lite allows to increase the print resolution up to 2400
dpi and to embed font so I can scale.

The question then is how to print a detailed map if you have a A4 printer.

I understand that it is not enough to save a pdf in A4 with a high
resolution but printed as a poster because the text does not scale.

Can I change the fontsize of all the text in my map all at once ?

Hello Stephen,

I am having the same trouble trying to print my xmind map. I have
tried to piece it together with image files, but this has been quite
awkward and I am not sure if it will work properly in that way. I see
you have suggested to export it as a PDF map, but how do you do this
with regular Xmind? It seems that the Pro version will only allow
this function.

I just cannot seem to properly print my map without it outputting to
an extremely small size. Please let me know if there are any more
solutions to this! Thank you.

Hi Steve

What about trying to modify the paper size, orientation in your system printing preferences?

Sincerely!
