Hi Iago

Maybe you can modify the settings in XMind.ini file.

Hi,

Is there any way to instruct xmind in Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) to place the $HOME/workspace folder somewhere else, like $HOME/.xmind? I would like to avoid adding a new folder to my $HOME because of our backup system.

Many thanks,

Iago

Thx for pointing out the file, but could you please be more specific on modifying which parameter to make it work? I read through the file and did not find anything related to the "~/workspace" folder. Google did not help, either:(

Add the following line to your "/usr/local/xmind/XMind.ini", below the -vmargs section:

-Dosgi.instance.area.default=@user.home/.xmind/workspace-cathy

Source:
- your post, on where the XMind.ini is
- sample XMind.ini for the Windows version (which is different, contains more information)
- this link: http://www.phacks.net/change-eclipse-workspace-location/

Thank you

Stephen, I have the same question.

Through "find / -iname xmind.ini" I foud my XMind.ini, which for my system lies in "/usr/local/xmind/XMind.ini".
But nowhere in this file I see the possibility to change the path of this ~/workspace folder. There are settings for various other folders located in ~/.xmind, but not for ~/workspace.

Did I miss something?
