Hi,

We have been using Xmind Pro on Windows XP for a while and have
experienced some instability with maps containing many sheets and
topics. Our mindmap is 10.3 MB and contains 27 sheets where an
"overview" has about 115 topics. The rest have est. 10-20 topics with
subtopics.

(1) Opening the file takes some 20 minutes in general and is very
frustrating.

(2) Yesterday when opening a map Xmind said it had not been closed in
a proper way, but could never repair it. Now we tried to replace the
"content.xml" in a previous version, that works, with the one from the
map that cannot be opened. When trying to open this new file we get
the error message:

"Ooops! Failed to load contents from this file. Caused by
'java.lang.OutOfMemoryError": Java heap space"

Any idea of what is wrong?

(3) Is Xmind not suitable for large maps even when you split it into
many sheets?

Kind regards

Hi again,

Is there really nobody in the community that could help us with this
bug.

We have trusted Xmind to be a stable application and need to access
our maps.

I guess the problem has got to do with Java and how to configure this.

Kind regards

Hi

What xmind version are you using, v3.2.1?  There should be no problem to use xmind in your way. Do you have many attachments?

Sincerely!

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Sorry for the delay, but we have been trying different ways to isolate
this "bug".

(1) Yes, we are using 3.2.1.

(2) When using Xmind with Microsoft Virtual PC and a clean Windows XP
(32 bits) installation it all works fine. After a while Java wanted to
upgrade to the latest version, what we have not tried yet as this is
likely what causes the problem.

Kind regards

Hi Admin

It's strange. There should be no this kind problem, unless the default jre is too old. But you can also take XMind Portable a try. It's worth.

Sincerely!

Stephen
