Poor sound quality using XM Delphi MYFI

I have owned an XM Delphi MYFI for almost a year now and have finally
hardwired it into my Jeep. I am very disappointed in the sound quality
and loudness when tested versus local FM stations. I'm wondering if it
could be the unit itself, or maybe the fact that since it is a personal
radio player it lacks the voltage to transmit enough information.

I am new to the world of volts amp milliamps and such.

I am considering going to a different XM tuner. Possibly the Pioneer
tuner that allows me to use my deck to control everything.

Any info would help.
