Is there a way I can upload an existing (non XLS) form to the server? I have several forms on my phone and is looking for another server except GAE where the new Aggregate simply does not give me enough free access.

Bergie,

Currently we only support forms posted in the XLS2XForm standard and not straight xforms.  This allows us to create a nice data dictionary for you.  How big are the forms?  If formhub is of interest, there might be some benefit in general in recreating the forms in an xls format.  That way you can modify things easily as you move forward too.

Thanks,

Matt

The forms are not that big, but there is layouts that I cannot find anywhere how to create with XLS2XForm.
Look at the examples ODK provide. Here is a snippet of XML I've been working on hand edited. There will be about 6 of these groups with about 10 - 15 questions in each group.
The final form should only bring up a comment box if it was selected on the previous page.
If I know how to do this in XLS, it will certainly be MUCH easier than hand editing my form.

Jacques,

Checkout this more advanced sample. It will show you how to do groups.  For a comment page I think you just use a note.

Note if you want to do multilanguage (we don't have this documented well yet).  You just add a column with label:french (just make sure you have a corresponding label:english.

Take a look at this and let us know if you have any more particular questions.

Note with formhub, you can just upload a file, test it and then delete the form if you have any mistakes and repeat the process.  We're going to work on improving this workflow with versioning in the future.

I am actually playing with the form below, but it does not have multiple selections per screen. If you run my form in ODK you will see there is two screens, both display multiple selections, the latter for every comment selection that was made. The tutorial does not have all the required info how to set this up. Also confusing to me is that ODK's link to XLS2Xforms have a completely different naming conventions.

Is there perhaps an Excel form out there that have every possible column header I can use?

Yes we don't have the multiscreen support yet.  This is something we're hoping to implement quickly.   We are also working to align the xls2xform standards between formhub and the ODK site.  For the most part we support both aliases but the documentation is not aligned.

Let me try and find an excel file that has a more complete list of headers.

Thanks,

Matt
