Hi!

I am trying to design a form that will be in both English and Nepali. This requires there to be a version in Devanagari script. It is my understanding that ODK and Android do not yet allow this option/render this script without rooting the devices. As a work around, we are looking into using image files with the Nepali script for each question prompt, answer option, hint, error message, etc.

Is there a good resource for how to do this in xls2xform?

Also, is there a way for someone to upload all of the images to their device when they upload the form, or do all of these images have to be preloaded on each device?

Thanks!
Alison

Hi Alison, are you using formhub or ODK aggregate as your server tool?

If you are using formhub, just let us know, and I'll provide more support. Either way, you can get ODK collect to download the media files automatically once you build them up and put them on the server.
As for how to generate the devnagari images, please look at this thread on odk-developers for help: https://groups.google.com/d/topic/opendatakit-developers/LlTIoC2hDEs/discussion

cheers,
