For what it's worth, I know it works OK with mingw, because that's what we use for Tao Presentations (http://www.taodyne.com). I have not looked at cygwin in a long time, and I won't have time in the coming week (Imagina coming up). Did you try with the BUILDENV environment variable set to cygwin?

Also note : at this point, there's a Makefile.config.cygwin only on the xl2 side, not on xlr. Maybe that's what you are hitting.

Could you share on the list which error message you are getting?
