Hi,
I’m having problems with tone diacritics displaying properly in XLingPaper. This is how my examples look in XMLMind, with the tone diacritics shifted off to the right: (Don’t pay attention to the details of the data; I forgot to change some of them after copying & pasting. 😊)

Kevin:

I suspect this is a case where the PDF output is able to use Graphite to correctly render the tones, but since the XMLmind XML Editor does not handle Graphite, it cannot show them correctly.  This is just how it is...

The PDF, however, looks fine:

The font for the vernacular data is Charis SIL AMArea Version 6.200. I’m using XLP 3.15.0 in XLMmind 8.2.0 on a Mac (macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)).

Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Kevin

Oh, sorry.  I was looking at the wrong piece.

Did this show up when you starting using version 6.200 of the Charis SIL AMArea font?

Thanks for your response, Andy. No, it didn't start when I started using that font. The diacritics are combining diacritics so the vowel + diacritic are "decomposed" rather than "composed" characters. —Kevin

Thanks, Kevin.

The only other thing that comes to mind is issues users have had on Windows when a given font was installed twice.  Sometimes finding and removing the duplicates fixed it.  Sometimes they had to rebuild the font cache.

I did find a recent site that talks about cleaning the font cache on macOS: https://www.imymac.com/powermymac/clear-font-cache-mac.html.  Maybe that will help?
