A new version of LingTree is available.  LingTree is a tool that lets you easily describe a linguistic tree and produce a graphic image of it. You can use it for syntactic, morphological, and phonological tree diagrams.  See https://software.sil.org/lingtree/.  LingTree runs on Windows, most versions of Linux, and Mac OS X.

Version 1.4.0 of LingTree adds use of automatic keyboard switching between types of items while keying the tree description. This is currently only available on the Windows version. One can set different keyboards for each of the following portions of the tree description:
  • Lexical node
  • Gloss node
  • Non-terminal node
  • Empty element node
  • Tree description symbols
To do so, use the new Format menu item / Set keyboards.

In addition, one can now control whether the file name shown in the title bar includes the full path of the file or just its name. Use the Settings menu item / Show full file path.

Please write to lingtree...@sil.org with any questions.
