Afternoon everyone!

Has anyone had any problems with not being able to set up the parentheses rules for citations?  I have the parentheses over-rides set up and things look good in my XLing document:

but when I export the pdf, they come out differently:

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Ryan David

Hi, Ryan.

I tried to reproduce this but it came out correctly.  Please zip up your document and email it to me.  I'll see if I can reproduce it then and we'll go from there.  (See section 11.45 "Create a Zip File of My Document" in the user documentation for how to create a zip file of your document.)

Thanks,

Thanks, Ryan, for sending your zip file off list.

It looks like you found a bug for when the publisher style sheet has the citationLayout element's defaultparen attribute set to 'citationBoth.'  Try this:
  1. Go to your style sheet.
  2. Click on the "citation layout" item (under Document Content Layout).
  3. In the attributes tool, right-click on 'defaultparenvalue' and choose 'Remove'.
  4. Save it and go back to your main document.

Try producing the PDF again.  Does that citation now come out the way you expect it to?  If so, the question then is whether other citations are coming out the way you want or not.

In the meantime, I'll look into this and see what can be done.
