Vertical space control after table

Greetings,

I am placing a table inside of a framed unit. Tables generally have space below them. Is this control-able? It is looking pretty bad in a page layout sense to have the extra spaces both after the table and after the framed unit. Sometimes even with a one line table. 

Any suggestions would be appreciate.
