Yes, I also tested the old versions of xjview, they dones't work.

In this case, you may simply modify the code and set fileext = 'nii' (or 'img')

I tested the xjview 9.7, that's work. According to the informations from matlab suggestions, this problem might be caused by a function of SPM? more informations pls see the attachment pictures.
