Just to make you Northerners feel better...
When I got off the bike at work this morning at 7.30, I had to feel the
handlebars with my gloves off, to satisfy myself that the heated
handgrips were working (they were). The mist is rolling across the
lawns onto the carpark. -Beats me how the ducks on the lawns don't
freeze. At home my weatherstation currently reports 3degC.
(waggies.net/weather)
Brrrrr.
Tomorrow I go tyre kicking second-hand cars. -My missus is giving me
not-so-subtle hints. She thinks commuting on the bike is too
dangerous. (She's right.) At least if I drive a car to work, then
I'll _really_ enjoy riding the bike on weekends. (And I won't have the
5 minute ritual each end of commuting, putting the wet-weather gear on
and off.)
Ken.

Well Folks,

All of the current YICS tools on order have been shipped.

A local shop with a much bigger saw than I have is to slice the aluminum for
the spin-on adapters. So those will begin mfg early next week.

Email offlist with any questions.

Well Gang,

I suppose by now you have seen that Barry Blessing showed up at last on
XJ@yahoogroups.

Do you think we should volunteer or go forward with XJ Riders ?

-Mike

No.
Hmmm what was the question again.

Vera, a word from a computer programmer, you cannot answer an either/or question with 'yes'!!! It
is meaningless.
If you want your name to appear, edit your Google membership, and add a nickname.
As far as your email address goes, it is that, because I added you to the group. I think the
email address is the identity with Google, so you would have to create a new membership using the
gmail address. Or one of us could add you with it (if we knew what it was), and delete the old
one.
However...

My opinion: It seems pointless continuing this group, given that we now have control of the Yahoo
group membership, and can delete spam posts (and the person who posted them).

However, if you guys (that includes you Vera) think it is worth maintaining this group, then I'll
remain a member. And you'll get the usual ration of bike vs 'other' posts from me (ie about 1%).

(Looks like the new car will be a 2004 Nissan Pulsar sedan, 1800cc with dual airbags, ABS brakes &
cruise control. Probably either not sold in the US, or else under a completely different name.)

regards all,
Ken.

We can keep this group open if you like and I'll volunteer to help
moderate the other group.

As you can plainly see, I go through periods when I have little time
if any for extra-curricular activities, but I usually have enough
time.

Once again, I'll leave it up to the group for consensus.

Dean -- It's a matter of having someone be able to approve new
members -- I'll be going away for a few days -- my daughter is being
wed -- and, God forbid -- anything should happen to a one and only
moderator -- we'd be back in the same old boat -- so, DO IT -- shoot
your letter off to Blessing -- tell him we're (you and I) are on the
same page -- and have him change you from member to moderator.
