Over in Vmax land we have a representative from the club/list who acts as ombudsman. He also organizes discounts for list/club members.

 

I was just wondering if you guys think this might be a good idea for XJ folk ?

                Nah, I hate bargains.     

                I wanna pay full-price. 

                In fact, I want to be taken advantage of, and be charged some extortionately high price, for a common object, encased in plastic wrap and bearing an official, stuck-on label, with letters and numbers and Made-in-Japan, and other little letters and numbers, plus that cute little circle-thingy, with Genuine written on the stick-on label ... even if the generic part costs hundreds less.

Talked to a couple of folks who offer Vmaxer discounts.

 

One in particular was interested but wanted to know how our group members would be identified. In the VMOA we pay annual dues, get a magazine, events, etc but we get a membership number as well. VMOA is an actual corp, etc

 

Any thoughts how we might go about enumerating the list membership as verifiable to a vendor ?
