Good
to hear your old bike is up and running. I'm working to get an old '83-750
back in action, too.
I
got a little curious about the front end, today ... when I tried to move it out
of the way to get at some yard tools for cleaning-up the usual Fall mess.
The front forks were as still as a shirt done by a Chinese laundry.
Apparently,
enough moisture seeped down the fork tubes to turn the front fork oil into
Jello. So, I guess I'll be pulling off the front end to get after that,
pretty soon.
Will
someone with an 83-85 Maxim type tell me if the headset bearings are loose ball
bearings or rollers.
If
they are loose-ball type ... can I convert over to rollers without too much of a
hassle?
Does
anyone have Basil's phone number? I got to thinking about how quiet that
-- once "Very frequent" contributor has been ... and, I'd like to check-up on
him.
Also
... it there is enough interest ... I'm going to be parting-out a
Seca-550. Running bike, decent carbs, almost a complete bike. I'll
be doing it to help finance getting my 750 project funded.
Please
let me know -- OFF list -- if there are any 550 parts (bits) you might have an
interest in. I won't be cleaning or polishing anything ... just pulling
the part and boxing it up.
Thanks,
Rick
