(To help you Yanks understand us.)

Three Aussie guys were working on a high-rise building project - Steve, Bruce and Bluey.
Steve falls off and is killed instantly. As the ambulance takes the body away, Bruce says,
"Someone should go and tell his wife".

Bluey says, "OK, I'm pretty good at that sensitive stuff, I'll do it".

Two hours later, he comes back carrying a case of Coopers. (An excellent brand of beer brewed in
South Australia by one of the last family-owned breweries left in the businesses.)

Bruce says, "Where did you get that, Bluey?"

"Steve's wife gave it to me," Bluey replies.

"That's unbelievable, you told the lady her husband was dead and she gave you case of Coopers?"

"Well not exactly" Bluey says. "When she answered the door, I said to her, "You must be Steve's
widow".

She said, "No, I'm not a widow"

and I said

"I'll bet you a carton of Coopers you are".

I've had the sparkling and the pale ales. You're right, it is a good brewery. Is there a better brew that I should look for from them?

Oh, right - Steve's widow shouldn't have made that bet...  8-)

Hi Bill.

My favourite is their dark ale. -My standard drink where I can get it.
The extra old stout is very nice too. But around 7% alcohol.

Coopers are one of the few breweries in the world who make a home-brew mixture for retail sale to
home-brewers. You can probably buy them in the US. Various styles, in cans, complete with a
sachet of yeast. Just add sugar, water, and brew. Good result every time (especially the dark
ale).

Still owned by the Coopers family, and a big name in South Australia, where they get a lot of
local support. Both because we are proud of them, and their stuff tastes good. Unfortunately a
big NZ brewing company are trying to buy them out. They already own the other two breweries in
SA, and want the lot. The day that happens (if), is the day I stop drinking Coopers beer.

Cor, what started me off on that lot...

regards,
Ken.
