Chef Aid: The South Park Album is a 1998 soundtrack album based on the American animated comedy series South Park. Several well-known artists perform on the record, which was mainly produced by Rick Rubin. Chef Aid contains a number of songs from and inspired by the show, while other songs are largely independent from South Park. The album was released during the show's second season, shortly after the broadcast of the episode called "Chef Aid", which features many of the stars and songs that appear on the recording. Soul singer Isaac Hayes appears in character as Chef throughout the album, which mimicks a live concert.

Chef Aid: The South Park Album was made available in 3 different versions: "Clean", "Explicit", and "Extreme". The Explicit version contains profanities (including "fuck") and carries a Parental Advisory sticker, but it is still censored, even for lesser profanities, such as "goose shit". The Extreme version is completely uncensored.

There are several kinds of songs that appear on Chef Aid: The South Park Album. These include songs featured in the series, and sung by South Park characters or various artists. Other songs have been inspired by the series, with some written by the song's performer artist. The remainder of the songs are largely unrelated to South Park, although some of them have appeared on the corresponding "Chef Aid" episode.

Hard-core foodies will find a lot to like in Chef, including a steamy scene that shows Carl obsessing over a sumptuous pasta dish for an equally delicious Molly/Johansson. That little slice of food porn probably sent hundreds of wannabe chefs home to learn the same trick.

In this final installment, I will focus on music cues that have not yet been mentioned in the first three installments of this series, as well as additional usages of cues that have been mentioned in the first three articles and corrections of data presented in those articles.

According to some reports, a theme from some incarnation of the Star Trek franchise was used in the original Japanese opening of the 21st Century Battle (and was subsequently replaced in the U.S. by the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire music). However, since I have not seen the OJV of the 21st Century Battle as of the date this article was written, I cannot comment on this myself.

Anyone who has a tape of the OJV (Original Japanese Version) of the 21st Century Battle, please send me an MP3 or video file of the opening at the e-mail address above. If I can correctly identify the Star Trek theme in question, I will properly credit you in a revision of this article.

In the next installment, we will focus on even more films whose music was used on the original Iron Chef. We will also focus on items from other media, such as TV shows and video games, whose music was also used.

(If you can offer any information on specific episodes of Iron Chef in which cues from Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story are heard, please e-mail me at the e-mail address above. If your information is proven accurate, I will properly credit you in a future update of this article.)

In the next installment, we will focus on more films whose music was used on the original Iron Chef. We will also focus on items from other media, such as TV shows and video games, whose music was also used.

Maizano is a new restaurant in Costa Mesa, California, helmed by Chef Alan Sanz. It opened in November, and as he describes it, this will be the project of a lifetime, as it combines his love for the cuisine of the Mexican Southeast with an intimate team, or "paisanos," as they call them in Mexico, and music.

Sanz brings a secret weapon to the kitchen: synesthesia. Synesthesia is an attribute some individuals have in which their brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing them to experience those senses simultaneously.

"Synesthesia is usually more visual than auditory, but, in my case, it's more auditory. I started to realize that I saw people and I tasted things, since I was three years old. But, above all, it happened when I heard songs and tasted spices that were not available in Mexico. I could feel their textures and aromas in my mouth," he explains.

"From the first moment I get up, everything is music: I get in the car and play music very loud; before service, I play music; when we close, we play music; I get home and I listen to music or play about 30 or 40 minutes before going to sleep," he says.

Today, after more than 15 years as a chef, he is familiar with countless flavors and knows ingredients from all over the world, including ingredients that he knew many years before he actually tasted them. Making a dish for Sanz is like cooking a song. Since living in the United States, working as a chef, his synesthesia has amplified.

As he explains, synesthesia is something that cannot be controlled, it just comes unexpectedly and involuntarily. When someone plays new music, he detects new flavors and this helps him in the kitchen. Sometimes, at night, when he hears a song, he writes down those flavors and the next day he tries them in the kitchen.

As for the future, I think: this is the project I'm working on and it will be for the future and for the long term," he says confidently. "Whatever comes, may it come as it will, but it must be a consequence of today's work. I have not visualized beyond this project. This will be the project of my life."

Upon graduating in 2011, Lindsay worked in some of the most acclaimed kitchens in New York, including Craft, Colicchio and Sons, and Eleven Madison Park. Looking for his next adventure and a deeper appreciation of Italian cuisine, Lindsay traveled abroad to cook in a restaurant just outside of Rome.

Double Blue Salad: One of my favorite recipes of all time is this salad. I love it because it can be used all year round just by changing a few of the ingredients out. The base is a mix of bitter-style greens or baby greens. The dressing stays the same all year round as well as the spiced pecans. The fruit and cheese change with the season. The dressing is a classic vinaigrette of maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, canola, or grapeseed oil and mustard. It stays cohesive and does not separate once mixed because the mustard binds it. It is delicious and can be used for other salads that require a sweet and sour flavor.
