I hope you understand my request, Because my request is that the payment method of my netflix which is EE are hold, just today i received the email from netflix that asking me to update the payment method, and my account of NETFLIX are linked directly with EE TV package, so i need help from support because as i can see that the netflix are active on EE but on netflix they losted the payment.
@Derek3211 this will be because when your Sky services were restricted it sends a cancellation message over to Netflix. Unfortunately the reactivation of Sky services doesn't automatically send a new notification to Netflix to same that the billing has resumed from Sky.
This has been escalated to the Sky Messaging team who should be in touch with you regarding this within the next 48 hours via a colourful chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page.
You may need to refresh your browser for the chat bubble to appear.
This link explains how this works so you will need to respond to the chat bubble at the bottom of the page when it appears:
" -you-know/Escalating-a-post-to-a-Sky-expert/ba-p/3711147"
When the chat bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or it will be automatically closed. Please note this isn't a live chat so replies may not be instant.
I was logged out by my ex as she put her details into my sky glass for her Netflix when we first had sky but due to the relationship ending I asked her several times to take it off my sky glass which she has now done but logged into my old Netflix account to use with my sky subscription and its saying it can't take a payment but I pay through sky glass is there anything I can do to get sky to continue payments with my netflix account that I have just put on there?
@Adamnorton4204 so if your ex's Netflix account was the first one used when logging into the Sky Glass that means it's linked on the Netflix end. Signing out of Netflix from the Sky Glass won't switch the Sky linking.
the only fix for this is your ex contacting Netflix and getting them to unlink that Netflix account from your Sky account. Once that has happened when you login to Sky glass Netflix with your Netflix account it will then link your Sky and your Netflix account together.
I am also having this issue, but we upgraded from sky q to sky glass today, they have cancelled our netflix even though we havent recieved the tv yet and should still be included with the package, we are still oayomg for sky q. They said this will resolve itself within an hour and didnt.
That's likely because when you order Sky Glass/Stream they have to process the cancellation of Q or + if you are already a customer, so it would appear that the cancellation message has already been passed over to Netflix to unlink your Sky account from your Netflix account.
Have been enjoying the Turkish Netflix for some time now, especially after managing to add Wise card using VPN, but randomly this month have had an email saying the account is on hold and the same when I go to Netflix. Payment was due to come out today, but when I look there's now no payment method listed on the acc. Wise card still active and has been on the acc since March 23.
Anyone else having issues? Is this a random glitch or wondering if Netflix are doing some kind of sweep wiping payment methods off Turkish acc's in the hopes people can't/won't re-add payment and will have to use their correct country or something??
I could possibly could do it at the time because my payment (gift cards) had expired and the UI had the pop up "add a payment method" screen. I'd you're going to end up using gift cards anyway it may be worth waiting until it expires and seeing if the pop up comes.
I am still rather Sus on this. It appears they are ID'ing overseas account holders, possibly with the intention of killing off those accounts (or they could just start doing the shared account checking - I'd cancel straight away ;) ). So I'd be a little hesitant to add another NZ card using a txt service. They can easily tell the international cards from local ones (they could easily just block them all from working if they wanted - prob a local market reason they don't.)
Tried loading Westpac CC via browser but this requires txt verification to a Turkish mobile.
1. Download PingMe app.
2. Added $2.69 credit ( in USD.. must have been 1.5usd)
3. Tried about 8 times last night to send a txt to the temporary Turkish number but Netflix kept saying "unavailable at this time" or similar. I kept refreshing the PingMe number too and eventually got a message asking to try later.
4. Tried again this morning while turning on Surf shark VPN and it worked first time.
I guess you could perpetually use gift cards but either you buy one once a month (hassle) or buy a whole lot in advance (risk Netflix shutting down your account rendering a bunch of gift cards useless)
PingMe is less "cheapies" than the way I used. Plus the last time I used PingMe was a bit of a rigmarole and it took me a few goes to get a phone number which worked. Also PingMe is a Russian company so I feel conflicted to use them even though I'm illegally bypassing Netflx's rules haha
@Trenchard: Just an update I went a whole month on gift card no cancellations.
I did my second gift card yesterday (200TRY) and billing is until March 28th, which is 2 days after the turkey price hike starting on March 26th.
So if you are still getting the "(insert name), we just added a movie you might like" emails from Netflix, safe to assume there are no issues with the account?
People that got the notification, do you still keep getting Netflix general notifications for new content added?
Also received email today saying account on hold, my ASB card has been removed, try to add asb/wise again unsuccessful. Bought netflix gift card on turgames.com and redeemed now showing my next renew is a month from now on but still can't watch it due to account on hold. There are also people on reddit with a lot of credit balance but account on hold.
I have read you're geolocked for 30 days to Turkey, but I haven't checked my own one yet. And one more note - don't know if it matters but I was connected to Turkey on the VPN when I initiated the chat and entered my CC details.
I followed the above steps to the tee and did the live chat. I was connected to Turkey via ShufShark VPN as well. The guy "Dilip" asked for my Turkey phone number. He didn't accept the already registered number saying it wasn't from Turkey but NZ. He asked me if I was ever in Turkey. I lied and said yes in 2020 when I signed up but since then moved to NZ. He said that was account was flagged as using the service outside the registered country & then proceeded to tell me off for paying through an account that wasn't NZ since I currently live here. He gave me 2 options, cancel the account and restart with NZ Payment or close the chat and try to fool them again and then be banned from Netflix! So am now paying full NZ Price :(
Maybe you have stopped using a specific payment method, or you changed credit cards. It can be super annoying and, more importantly, risky to have several payment methods on your account. You can easily remove expired payment methods from your Netflix account by following our guide.
Netflix is a paid streaming video-on-demand service based in the United States. It is also available worldwide in several languages, and mainly distributes original, purchased movies and television series from a variety of genres.
With over 260 million paid customers across 190+ countries as of January 2024, Netflix is the most popular video-on-demand streaming media service. It was launched on January 16, 2007, almost ten years after Netflix, Inc. started its groundbreaking DVD-by-mail movie rental service.
Security in today's digital environment must keep as little personal data as possible online. Your Netflix account is also affected by this. Although it can be convenient to have several payment options accessible, there may be security hazards involved. Unauthorized password sharing is potentially costing Netflix more than $600 million a month, or more than $7.3 billion a year.
You can reduce the potential risk of a data leak by eliminating any payment methods that aren't being used on your Netflix account. You can feel more at ease and have a more secure streaming experience because there are fewer payment methods saved and hence less sensitive information in danger.
