We're showing "Cultures of Resistance" again on November 5th, in case you missed it the first time.

 

 

点废成绿将于11月在“热力猫俱乐部”与“吃素的”餐厅举行的 “绿色之光，点亮你我”系列活动日程。

 

 “绿色之光，点亮你我”之绿色独立电影展

 

点废成绿将再次携手北京国际电影交流大会，一同推出每年一度的绿色独立电影展。今年的参映电影来自全球各地的独立导演，并涉及到各种有关环保的话题。 在11月的前两周，我们会分别在方家胡同的热力猫俱乐部以及五道营胡同的吃素的餐厅，举行总共四场的系列放映。所有放映的电影都将配有中文字幕！

简介：本日展映的是一部剧情片" El Perro Del Hortelano",这部电影来源于2009年秘鲁马努国家公园附近发生的真实事件—在秘鲁，‘El perro del hortelano’一般是指土著居民和环境保护者，意思是他们像‘马槽的狗，自己不吃干草，也不准马儿去吃’。然而在过去十多年里，大量秘鲁亚马逊河雨 林的资源通过多家跨国公司出口到了国外，大量土著居民的利益完全没有得到考虑。

 

"Upstream to Downstream"
What we do upstream has cumulative effects downstream, in our blood streams, and in our oceans. This is a public-service-style-art-announcement on the necessity of both local and global changes in our non-sustainable practices and systems. Our natural waters are not sanitary sewers.

“A Wedged Tale”
Few have ever seen what is surely one of the world's great acts of predation: a wedge-tailed eagle catching a kangaroo. None have filmed it. This is the story of one man's quest to shoot just such a shot. This man is Simon Cherriman. A 21st century bushman, Simon was born and raised in the Perth Hills and has been climbing trees, finding bird's nests, and going bush his whole life. “A Wedged Tale” follows him as he chases eagles across Western Australia, meeting a variety of wild animals along the way.

很少有人真正见过世界上最伟大的掠食：楔尾鹰猎捕袋鼠。更没有人拍摄过这场面。本片就讲述了一个男人试图抓拍这一画面的故事。这个人就是西蒙查瑞曼，一个 生活在21世纪澳大利亚的“土著人”。西蒙生长在珀斯山区，从小爬树、寻鸟，并打算终生过野性的生活。本片一直跟踪拍摄他横穿西澳大利亚追寻鹰的足迹，沿 路遇到了各种野生动物。

 

"Kathmandu Troubled Water"
This is a documentary film about the water problem in the Kathmandu valley. It describes water sources, pollution, social and management issues, water conflicts and solutions. Kathmandu valley and its huge lake has enormous water resources inside it as
well as around it. But now all these resources are being dried up. The main source of water 'Sundari Jal' can now fulfill only 20% of total demand. The main River 'Bagmati'' is stagnant due to drainage. Instability in government has become a major problem; they are blind to the water problem. Politically motivated people destroy our constructed resources. Some ritually motivated ethnic groups are trying to preserves some ponds but it has become meaningless. Because rapid population growth and huge underground building construction causes dry ponds.  We need to reverse the course of pollution, because time and tide wait for no man.

"Cultures Of Resistance"
Does each gesture really make a difference? Can music and dance be weapons of peace? In 2003, on the eve of the Iraq war, director Lara Lee embarked on a journey to better understand a world increasingly embroiled in conflict and, as she saw it, heading for self-destruction. From IRAN, where the graffiti and rap became tools in fighting back the regime, to BURMA, where monks acting in the tradition of Gandhi take on a dictatorship, moving on to BRAZIL, where musicians reach out to slum kids and transform guns into guitars, and ending in PALESTINIAN refugee camps in LEBANON, where photography, music, and film have given a voice to those rarely heard.

每一个手势是不是都能发挥作用？音乐和舞蹈是不是能成为和平的武器？2003年，伊拉克战争前夕，为了更全面的了解这个日益卷入各种冲突的世界，本片导演 Lara Lee踏上了征程，在这看来这也是一条走向自我毁灭的道路。几年后，已经游历过五大洲的Lara遇上了越来越多致力于用自己生活来推动改革的人。这就是他 们的故事。在伊朗，人们用涂鸦和说唱音乐作为回击政府的途径；在缅甸，僧侣们会效仿甘地用传统的方式来与独裁统治较量；而在巴西，音乐家教授贫民窟孩子音 乐，让他们用音乐来反抗；最后是在巴勒斯坦的黎巴嫩难民营，有那么多的图片、电影、音乐来描述那里，但是那的人却很少听到。CULTURES OF RESISTANCE（抵抗文化）势在探索艺术和创作力是如何为和平和正义而战的。

 

"Mayon The Volcano Princess"
This documentary is about the people who live around the Mayon volcano in the Bicol region of the Philippines. The documentary presents how the locals cope with the uncertainty of living next to a source of constant danger, and also some of their experiences during-and-after deadly volcanic disasters such as lahars, pyroclastic flows and eruptions. It also presents some of the strategies for dealing with volcano disasters and with the evacuation dilemma. The documentary contains interviews with local residents, officials, and scientists, as well as an animated recreation of the tragic legend of Princess Magayon who is believed to be buried under the volcano.

"火山公主Mayon"

"In The Spirit Of Laxmi"
In the Spirit of Laxmi follows the journey of Gerhard Wiehahn as he raises an injured leopard cub in India's Rajasthan province. Hungry, weak, and injured the cub was left for dead on the outskirts of Ranthambore National Park. Taken in by naturalist and hotelier and Gerhard Wiehahn, the two embark on a journey focused on bringing the cub into adulthood. Propelled by a unwavering resolve Weihahn commits himself to raising the cub and returning her to the wilderness from which she came.
"拉克西米之魂"
讲述Gerhard Wiehahn在印度的拉贾斯坦邦养育了一头受伤的幼豹。受伤的饥饿的幼豹被丢弃在Ranthambore 国家公园附近，Gerhard Wiehahn与自然主义者和饭店经理救了幼豹，并开始着手将它抚育长大。坚定不移的决心驱使Weihahn将幼豹抚养长大并归还自然。

 

"El Perro Del Hortelano"
Created entirely by indigenous volunteers in the Peruvian Amazon where their government is systematically removing them from their native lands in order to strike billion dollar deals with US oil companies. It is the only feature narrative ever created about oil extraction in the region and its impact on local communities. It is also the first feature film written entirely by indigenous Peruvians.
