permission denied error calling phing from xinc

All,

I'm pretty new to Xinc but I've gotten it mostly up and running. Only
problem is that the phing builder will not run. I'm able to run phing
from the command line but this is what I get when trying to call it
from xinc:

sh: /usr/share/php/phing: Permission denied

I've even tried setting phing and it's folders as 777 to allow all
rights to everyone and still it fails.

Any thoughts?

can you please verify that all files / folders that phing is
attempting to work with are set to the correct permissions?
