He spared his life at the request of Rukmini, but shaved off his hair and moustache as a mark of disgrace.
Krishna then proceeded to Dwaraka with Rukmini, where he performed the marriage ceremony with great pomp and splendor. He invited all the gods, sages, kings and friends to witness the auspicious event. He also gave lavish gifts and donations to the brahmins and the poor. He treated Rukmini with utmost respect and affection and made her his chief queen. Rukmini also reciprocated his love and served him with loyalty and dedication. They lived happily ever after as an ideal couple, who exemplified the virtues of love, faith, courage and devotion.
