It is a PILOT project that GMU Health Communication Dept and Nursing Dept is doing. The goal is to see " if text message can be an effective tool to stop smoking". My ultimate goal is to see GMU research for Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese Community next year.
The graduate student will come to the participant to measure Nicotine level by blowing air. Then only 10 minutes survey will take place. $30 cash will be given to the participants. 30 messages would sent out through texting. After a month later, the participants would need to do the same, measuring Nicotine level and 10 minutes survey, another $30 cash will be given.
Would that be possible to provide an opportunity for GMU Table during 1pm-4pm at the Cafeteria to promote the smoking research for Chinese? Research staff, Jiayi Liu (former teacher at your Chinese school) can measure Nicotine Level and conduct 10 minutes survey. Also, can you please send out to the message to the parents that GMU will measure Nicotine level for smokers?
For people who doesn't want to come to the GMU table, people can send the name and mobile phone number to my email address, I will arrange Chinese research staff to call them to set up an appointment, meet them at their convenient time and location.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
