Add Database categories

I was wondering if you could walk me through the process of adding databases to categories in Xerxes? We no longer use Metalib, so I cant go through the Admin interface on Metalib. The person that initially setup xerxes for us no longer works here and I am not very experienced with it. Any information that you could share would be very helpful.

Hi Ulysses,

you're asking about Xerxes 1.x, right? If you have the databases and
categories populated and just want to assign/reassign databases to
categories, it's rather easy to do it in the Xerxes database. Each row
in the xerxes_subcategory_databases table assigns one database (the
database_id column) to a category (subcategory_id) and assigns it
order within that category (sequence). You'll find your database_id in
the xerxes_databases table as metalib_id and your subcategory_id in
the xerxes_subcategories table.

If you still used Metalib, this assignment would be overwritten during
your next "populate" action from Metalib.
