Hello Competitive Rowers,

I finished putting together a 4 months training package which includes
the final 16 weeks of training before a major 2000m championship, like
the Olympics.

When rowers are getting ready to race, many times training routines
neglect the amount of endurance training below the aerobic threshold
and high intensity workouts take over disproportionally. It is also
quite common that specific strength training is put on the back
burner. In addition, high intensity pieces are stacked on top of each
other within the same workout. Key to the right preparation is to
train consistently and follow the body's recovery pattern. I enjoyed
narrating each page of the program and explaining different pieces in
a presentation on CD-R.

I added several technique DVDs which show my sculling technique in
slow motion as well as real time study of different technique
exercises that I routinely performed, such as alternate asymmetric
square blade rowing.

My goal is to provide key information to increase boat speed, because
I enjoy watching people improve and in addition, I have no crew to
protect at this time. I have been using SKYPE, mobileMe, and youtube
to coach, without traveling. It has been fun, and now I can assist
scullers with their technical needs.

I enjoy working with coaches, especially younger ones who are open to
learn additional ways to improve their crews.

Finally, this training package can be adjusted to different types of
training goals. When the training program is followed 100% it
represents my training volume before the Olympics. Depending on the
category, juniors would reduce the second workout volume by 25% to
35%, masters would do the same if not completely cut out the second
workout, depending on work load and age.

I enjoy my job as rowing advisor.

I wish you a great racing season 2010.

Sincerely,

Xeno
