virtualization infrastructure stacks

Was looking for some vmware based 'appliances' for Linux/Ubuntu and open-source infrastructure stacks - downloaded a LAPP (Linux Apache Postgresql PHP) appliance stack http://bitnami.org/stack/lappstack from

They have several other appliance stacks available as appliances for vmware-based servers(which can be converted to virtualbox also I believe) or Amazon EC2 cloud.

Glad to hear of any others experience with similarly available virtual stacks.

This is one of the things we've been working on recently:

It's part infrastructure (Grid-stuff, e.g. condor) and part modeling
infrastruction (our models, some mapserver plotting stuff, etc.)
