Do I have to convert .xdxf file for use with the most recent version of Goldendict?

to XDXF - The Extensible (XML) Dictionary Exchange Format

The most recent GoldenDict on Mac can easily add folders with .ifo and other files, but although it is announced as an option, it does not even see the .xdxf file when after F3 I open the file list. Same with .dsl files. Is Pyconverter the only option?
