Thanks for asking! Sorry, I have been busy lately, and haven't gotten a chance to respond.

Basically, if I were you, I would build from the repo source. The pypi package is likely broken.

Unfortunately, I do not have yhe the bandwidth to fix it. However I would accept any PR that did.

What xdress really needs right now is a champion...

I hope this helps. I am hoping to get more direct support for this in the future.

I've had similar issues with the github repo. Perhaps you use IRC and we can arrange a time to work through things more regularly. I'm not really so interested in maintaining xdress as I am in using it.
